Happy New Years-Happy Birthday Velzy!!

Our BFF's showed up on our doorstep with nowhere to go. Haha just kidding they chose us and we felt so honored to have them stay. The Winagears came and crashed our humble abode right after Christmas. It was a crazy time and tons of fun!!!

We loved hanging out all week!

Watching screens starts young. Some are on ipods and some are watching the tube.

We had to have big food. Like a number 1O can of nacho cheese sauce! Yummy!

We spent new Year Eve and the Sebras house. We ate GOOD and had a blast!

They just moved and are cutently remodeling their new home so it was soooo nice of them to host this event. It is an event when 3 couple get together and it adds up to 19 people.

 LA ZOO on Velzy's Birthday

 

 We had the best day ever at the zoo. All the animals must have know it was Velzy's Birthday. They all came out to see us.

 Best day ever! The Gorillas really put on a show.

 The giraffes were a delight!

 Monte tried to feed them kettle corn. I got out of there asap.

 Colin sure got to see a lot even from the stroller. It was really a great day.

 There was even a monkey fight.

 I said out loud, "that this would be my best day at the zoo ever, if we got to see the elephants, I would just be on cloud nine." So we waited and waited and just as we started to leave I turned around and a gate was opening and out marched 2 huge elephants. They were awesome.  And even after that we watched a baby chimp play and swing from trees for 20 minutes. Best day ever. I think I might have said that already... I might have enjoyed it more than the kids.

 After the Zoo we met up with Grammy, Papa, and Velzy's BFF Madison.

 We pigged out at China One our family favorite.

 Then we headed home for cake and presents.

 Wow 11. 11 candles for every year of life. Can we get a recount? Did some one skip some time. Is this going in fast forward?

 We gave her some fun stuff as well as her Hillside team suit.

Papa and Gram got her a parka for swim team. Now she won't freeze to death. 

No Birthday Party. Let's Party at Knotts!!

 Velzy just wanted to miss a day of school and go to Knotts Berry Farm...again. So we did.

 Nathan got to go last time I got to go this time.

 We had a blast! Can you tell?

We had a great day. Being alone with Velzy was such a treat! She is such a fun and loving girl. She wouldn't hurt a fly. Unless her name was Avery. But, really she loves Avery too. They talk about wanting their own rooms but when I hear them a night talking about their days I know they really love each other. Speaking of flies Velzy even likes bugs. When we have one in the house she's the one that comes to the rescue. She usually doesn't even kill it, she sets it free outside.  Velzy is such a good example of kindness and caring. She has had some difficult times at school and she is coming out smelling like a rose. She is killing others with kindness and looking for ways to be kind to those who aren't so kind. I think she has wisdom beyond her years and everyone who is her friend is so lucky to have her. She and Madison have a the cutest friendship and I love to see them together. When they hang out it's all laughter and smiles. Velzy still loves Disney Channel shows against our better judgement we still let her watch them. She love Shake it Up, Good Luck Charlie, and Ants. She still likes Taylor Swift. I think her current favorite color is purple. She loves the fast rides and enjoys all sorts of food. She is a great big sister and a big help. She loves to use her ipod and text Madison cute pictures of baby animals. She loves to make pot holders and art. She is just a creative, fun, well rounded, all around girl next door and we are so lucky to have her in our home!
